The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Texas at San Antonio, invites applications for one tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2011 in School Psychology.
Responsibilities include teaching; advising and supervising students in field placements; conducting an active program of research; seeking grant funding; and providing service to the department, college, and university.
Required Qualifications include: (1) earned doctorate in School Psychology by August 15, 2011 from a recognized school psychology program accredited by NASP or the American Psychological Association (APA); and (2) possess or be eligible for Texas licensure (Licensed Psychologist or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.
Preferred Qualifications: (1) teaching experience at the graduate level that includes applied behavior analysis, response to intervention, and/or curriculum-based assessment; (2) research experience in single-case designs and applied behavioral interventions; and (3) teaching experience related to culturally and linguistically diverse populations.

Responsibilities
This position will involve teaching, research, service and program support in a National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) approved School Psychology specialist program. Preferences include teaching and research experience in child psychopathology, emotional/behavioral evaluation, and intervention. The LSSPs’ efforts will center on the “Behavior Improvement Classrooms” (BIC) for students classified with serious emotional disturbance. Responsibilities include formulating behavior improvement plans, providing direct interventions, monitoring student progress, and working with contract consultants and teachers in the BIC classrooms. The LSSP will promote inclusion services and exit from BIC. Assessment and presentation of information at ARD meetings is expected. Some supervision of others may be required.
