Dr. Scott Poland is a Past President of NASP and a founding and current member of the National Emergency Assistance Team and has many years of experience responding to school crises and a myriad of legal and ethical issues that affect school psychologists. He has provided consultation and testimony in a number of cases where law suits where brought against schools and school personnel and has authored numerous books, chapters and articles on school crisis issues. Dr. Poland was previously the Director of Psychological Services for Cy-Fair ISD and is currently the Director of the Suicide and Violence Prevention Office at Nova Southeastern University and serves as the Prevention Division Director for the American Association of Suicidology.
